Government raises GH¢400 million through bonds
The government has issued a three-year bond to raise GH¢400 million to pay its domestic debt mainly owed to contractors.
The country's domestic debt has been mounting over the past two years following the government's austere measures instituted to control money supply and to keep inflationary pressure down.
The head of treasury at the Bank of Ghana, Francis Kwabena Andoh said the bond issue was targeted to both local and foreign investors.
